Amy's HERE!!!

We've been waiting and waiting for Amy's visit. She'll be here for a whole month and we're so excited. Here are some pictures we took of her at Piers Park
Addi wants to grow up to be a cow girl just like her Aunt Amy.
As you can see Addi is thrilled to have her aunt here. Amy gets roused from slumber every morning (probably earlier than she appreciates) with hugs and kisses from her biggest fan.

This is her Twilight pose.

Plum Island

Good weather is kind of like oxygen...you don't think about it, until you don't have it.
And for a long while we weren't having it...good weather that is. Finally though the clouds opened and we had a glorious, beautiful day. We took full advantage and spent the entire day at the beach. We had never been to this beach before and it was awesome!
The highlight for us was playing with friends. Addi aches to play with friends everyday and sometimes it just doesn't happen so on days like these she is in heaven! And so am I because all she wants to do is play, play, play and that means I can chat, chat, chat with the other moms.
I love it!

Oh dear Hazel we don't know what we'll do without you when we go.

The real tragedy of moving, is leaving these friends that have become family.A day to remember.

The Lion Sleeps Tonight

Our little lion is asleep after a big day. She's been working hard in dance class since last fall and finally today was the day to get up on stage and perform!!!!

She loved it, the lights the applause...she was in her element!

Past the Point of No Return

I am no quilter and this is why, all this time and fabric and I don't love it...maybe it will grow on me.

While the Cat's away...

Addi and I are living up Theo's trip to Utah. We went to the Children's Museum, then on the very next day she went again with one of her favorite people in the whole world Grandma Lois!
Then on Friday we splurged and went up to New Hampshire to Canobie Lake Park (a "vintage" Lagoon for all you Utahn's)

It was a cloudy day and we were literally the only people in line most of the time.
The operators would just let her go around and around as many times as she wanted.

She was HILARIOUS on the cars, she was so serious while watching the road and turning (hand over hand) nary a smile to be found she was concentrating so hard in those self propelled cars...she thinks she's ready for the real thing

We went on most of the rides together and one of our favorites was the Wipe Out..or the octopus ride as Addi was pleased to call it...she gave it that name after seeing the starfish on the top of the ride. Anyway, it was a spinning ride and we were spinning so hard and fast that it was spinning the drool right out of us! That made us laugh, which made more drool come out and that made us laugh even harder....oh boy...good times.

It got a little warmer as the day went on and we got brave enough to ride....THE BOSTON TEA PARTY dun...dun...dun!
Basically you get in a boat and plunge straight into the water and everyone gets soaked.

We were there for 5 hours and came home exhausted and sticky with cotton candy...great day.

My New Favorite Game...

SMOCKING!!!
I love the look of a darling smocked sun dress but the pre-smocked fabric you can get at the store is either cheesey or granny. I was so excited when I found Heather Ross' tutorial via Martha Stewart. So I can make cute smocked clothing with fabric that I love! You can click on the picture to get a closer view and if you're wondering it is VERY EASY!

Sweet Dreams

There are few things Addi loves more than a fancy, princessy nightie. The ones I made this winter are WAY too hot for summer so I started these (Butterick 6659) a few weeks ago. Other projects kept popping up and taking precedence. But I finally finished them and I think they turned out pretty well. Now Addi will have some breezy nighties for the summer.

That's so nice! I do a lot of writing so I go through notebooks quickly. That notebook cover would certainly inspire me!
