Wild Flower Frock

My BFF and swap buddy sent this cute pillowcase dress with a pack of wildflower seeds for Addi.
The flowers were planted immediately upon delivery and they are doing nicely, thanks to Addi's attention and our moist climate.

Here she is one morning tending her flowers

(my friend made the gloves too!!!)

Take Me Out To The Ballgame!

Randall's parents were in town for graduation and on Wednesday night they treated us to a Red Sox game.
We had a great time, there were home runs (5 I think), bats breaking, and even a fight in the stands...it was AWESOME!

Can't go to a Sox game without a Fenway Frank

Addi got a little weary towards the 7th inning but she stuck it out to the middle of the 8th when everyone sings "Sweet Caroline" I'm pretty sure that was her favorite part, besides the M&M's grandma snuck in for her.
Thank you Grandma and Grandpa Wood for a really great time!

Just getting you in the mood for the next post

Joy School Graduation

Oh the Joy School. This is Addi's second year of Joy School and let me tell you...now that it's done all that stands out are the good things...and if I could think of one I'd mention it.
I'm kidding of course, I am really glad that we did Joy School, it gave us an opportunity to talk about and experience in depth about things that I wouldn't think of emphasising on my own. For example uniqueness, Addi really got the joy of being unique, so much so that she changed her favorite color from pink to green. And also understanding that everyone is good at different things (we constantly review this because she wants to be the best at everything).
Trust, honesty, identity, creativity...all "Joys" that are so important to understand at this age that with out this awesome program I probably wouldn't have taught as well.
I will admit that it was a lot of work and by the end I was definitely counting down the days but I'm so glad that Addi and I had this fun and worthwhile experience together. In my life I try to put most of my energy into things that "you take with you" (after you die) and all of these Joys and experiences will be with her...and me forever as we make them apart of our lives and character.

Addi, accepting her diploma from "Miss Saydi"
(Just a shout-out to Miss Saydi, she was the one who got all the mom's organized and kept us going...not an easy task. She is also the one behind our awesome family pictures...just one of her many talents)

J.D.

I officially sleep with my lawyer.

poise and grace

Having long limbs is great and terrible. There are few shelves I can not reach (I am very popular at the grocery store with the little old ladies trying to get the fiber cereal they keep on the top shelf), but long sleeve shirts are never long enough, and the only pants I find that are long enough cost big bucks. Hiding weight gain is much easier when there is a lot of area to spread it around. I can reach almost anywhere in the car while still driving. But sometimes those limbs just get tangled....
Like they did the other day when I was hippity-hopping down the front steps on my way out for a jog (I like how I put that in as if I do it all the time) and one foot got tangled with the other and...the rest is history.
(this picture is a re-enactment, luckily there was no one around for the actual event)
The actual wounds aren't much to see but I'm telling you, that concrete is not forgiving on the shins...no wonder I didn't win the Highland Jr. Miss Pageant

...this time last year

OK not exactly this time last year but pretty close. These were some pictures taken outside the visitor's center in Sharon, Vermont the birthplace of Joseph Smith. I've been seeing a lot of umbrella pictures lately and I wanted to join in. I know I haven't posted for a little while but there is a good reason...no more memory. My computer is full, so we got one of those handy dandy external hard drives and hopefully I'll be back up and running soon.

Labor of Love

I started this book about a year ago and promptly forgot about it. I got my act together when I realized how quickly Theo's Birthday was coming up (it's his present). I am ashamed to say that by the end I used some short cuts but I think it turned out pretty cute.
(Before you say anything about the cute ideas...and they are, I begged borrowed and stole every idea in this book, as I have said many times before I haven't had an original thought in my life)

A Day in the City

We had some errands in the city so we made a day of it. Visiting the playground in Boston Common and watching the ducks and geese at the Public Garden. We also picked up my Gurgling Cod, so I'm pretty excited about that. The kids would say the best part was eating popsicles on the front porch when we got home.

(for those who don't know what a gurgling cod is, it is a water pitcher shaped like a cod that gurgles and gluggs when you pour the water out, it will liven up any dinner party.)
I got a white one but in the larger size.

Friday Morning at the Museum

H&C came to hang out on Friday, so we decided to go to the Science Museum for an outing. We didn't have a car big enough for everyone so we used to trusty old T.
Bus Stop
(I tried to crop out Theo because he was screaming...he didn't want Addi touching the stroller)

Play Date

Addi is a very social little gal and she's a little sad that she's an only child so far. I am too for a lot of reasons and one big one is that she wants to have play dates every day. If we were in Utah and the kids were across the street or next door it would be one thing but out here you have to schedule time with both mothers and it takes a good 20-30 min. to get there....not so simple
Anyway, she was excited that this week we had a biking play date with her new friend E.

E lives next to a really cool biking trail that ends at a park.

Taking a snack break

Biking to and from the park we all went back to E's house for lunch and dress-ups.
Needless to say Addi slept long and hard after such a great day and her 1/3 mile ride.
